Current Research Interests/Projects:

  • Two forthcoming articles, “Bush v. Gore” and “New York Times v. United States,” in The Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court, to be published by Macmillan Press in 2008.
  • I am also working on research concerning public opinion and the U.S. Supreme Court. One paper has been published (see above) and others have been presented at major political science conferences. Two papers are currently being reviewed for publication.
  • Also, I am in the preliminary data collection stages of a project titled "Corruption and Scandal in the U.S. Congress." This research, based on an original database of more than 200 corruption and scandal allegations during the period 1974 to 2006, examines the determinates of corruption in the U.S. Congress. I argue that institutional and systemic factors contribute to incidents of corruption amongst sitting members of Congress.

Other Interests/Community Involvement:

  • Advocate for mental health reform -- member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
