ACCT 305. Accounting Information Systems

An introduction to accounting information systems utilizing basic information systems theory.  Systems analysis and design techniques and systems auditing methods will be used to evaluate accounting systems in use in industry today. Software will be used in a lab setting to provide “Real World” experiences. Topics include a discussion of accounting transaction cycles, internal computer accounting controls, computer crime, systems auditing, systems analysis and design, and business ethics. A total systems approach will be used throughout the course.
