Because of Bonaventure: Tom and Michelle Cullen, '00, share the secret to their success Passionate about being a Bonnie: A conversation with Jennifer Kane, '03
I got my first job out of college networking through a St. Bonaventure alumna. Once I knew I was interested in relocating to the North Carolina area, a professor from St. Bonaventure put me in contact with this professional. Knowing I was a Bonnie, she took me under her wing and I now teach in the same school! Needless to say, Cornelius Elementary School knows what a Bonnie is!
My first year of teaching has been going great! There is never a dull moment in the Donner classroom. St. Bonaventure University has given me the tools that have taught me to be flexible with whatever situation comes my way. For that, I thank my professors, mentors, and colleagues. Being a teacher involves wearing many hats, including serving as a leader. With the multiple field experiences I experienced at St. Bonaventure, I feel confident and fully prepared.
I would invite and encourage any prospective student to join the St. Bonaventure education family. It is the best decision you will ever make. At Bonaventure, you will receive more than 500 hours of teaching time ... before student teaching! Not many other schools can say that. When you join St. Bonaventure, you are welcomed into a life-long family. Once a Bonnie, always a Bonnie!
