Determined to maximize support for today’s students, St. Bonaventure University alumni Jim and Nina Meyer have issued a $75,000 participation challenge for Bona’s first-ever Giving Day on April 21.
This friendly challenge encourages the university’s worldwide community to generate 750 gifts during the 24-hour fund drive.
“No matter the size, every contribution will now have an even greater impact, thanks to this generous participation challenge,” said Clarence Picard, director of Annual Giving.
The Meyers — Nina, class of ’79, and Jim, class of ’76 (MBA ’79), university trustee and CEO of SiriusXM — changed lives last year as the lead donors for the Young Alumni Challenge, inspiring 281 young Bonnies to give back to their alma mater, Picard said.
Now the challenge is on to receive a total of 750 gifts during #BonaGivingDay, which begins at 12:01 a.m. this Thursday, April 21.
St. Bonaventure alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends are asked to Rise to the Challenge with a gift during the 24-hour Giving Day and to encourage others through social media.
