BONARESPONDS FOR THIS WEEKEND AND WINTER BREAK

BonaResponds will be working this weekend both locally and again in Breezy Point. The Breezy Point crew will be made up of alumni and friends from the NYC area. If you have family or friends that would like to help, have them meet us at the Gut and Pump near the Baseball fields in Breezy Point at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Wear brown, if at all possible.

Locally, we will be working on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. building a ramp and other jobs. Meet us behind Murphy or by the BonaResponds vans. Dress properly since we will be working outside. Please sign up at http://www.BonaResponds.org.

Over break we will be helping somewhere in the area affected by Sandy. We do not know where we will be yet since any of several sites are still in contention. We will go where we can be of the most assistance. The tentative times for the trip are from Dec. 28, 2012 to Jan. 13, 2013, depending on work and accommodations. Please sign up at BonaResponds.org for more information when it becomes known. We should know more after this weekend when a few volunteer coordination sites switch modes into a longer term recovery from storm clean up.

Finally, remember if you are buying items online (from virtually any store) if you go through http://GoodShop.com and enter BonaResponds as your cause/charity, we will get a percentage of what you spend plus you get good deals.

LENNA VISITING PROFESSORSHIP DEADLINE EXTENDED

The Lenna Visiting Professorship Committee is extending the deadline for proposals for the Spring 2013 semester until Wednesday, Dec. 12.

The purpose of the professorship is to bring individuals of national and international stature to St. Bonaventure to enrich the learning environment and to enhance the university's reputation. The formal nomination should include:

• rationale for the nomination of candidate, e.g., connections to the core curriculum; disciplines to be covered; schools/departments that will benefit
•candidate’s curriculum vitae
•tentative schedule
•suggested timetable
•estimated budget (including travel, meals, lodging, an honorarium of up to $6,000)
•anything else that would be useful to the committee in making its determination

Proposals will be accepted until Wednesday, Dec. 12. A complete list of nomination guidelines is available by request at jtgodbou@sbu.edu or by phone at 716-375-2649.
