BUSINESS
CENTER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Over the past two weeks construction activity at the
William E. and Ann L. Swan Business Center has concentrated on completing
the enclosure for winter weather. The roof is insulated and weather-tight,
and temporary covers are in place over the areas where glass will eventually
be installed. Utilities are hooked up, and temporary heat will be in
place by the end of today.
In addition, almost all of
the interior walls have been framed, and the metal studs are ready
for drywall.
Over the next two weeks, workers will install the framing for the peaked roof
deck where roof tiles will go later. Electricians, plumbers, and sheet
metal workers are installing the mechanical systems, and we expect
work on interior stairways to begin.
See construction photos at www.sbu.edu/construction.
