There are no benefit changes to the Guardian Dental Plan. 2012 rate changes are as follows: High plan single coverage is $34.75 monthly (up from
$29.20); family coverage is $98.47 (up from $82.75) Employee options for the dental plan are to join, opt out, or change from the low to high plan (or vice versa). There are no rate or benefit changes to the EyeMed vision plan; options are to opt out, enroll or do nothing (doing nothing will keep you with the same benefits you currently have). In order to align with the Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance plan year, which runs fiscally June to May, effective Jan. 1, 2012, the flexible spending account will change to a 5 (five) month plan year ending May 31, 2012. The maximum dollar amount you may deposit into your health care FSA may not exceed $2,083 (5/12 of $5,000). In order to obtain reimbursement from P&A in this short plan year, the eligible out-of-pocket medical, dental or vision expense must be incurred between Jan. 1, 2012 and May 31, 2012. One may not enroll in a flexible spending account if currently enrolled in the high-deductible (6205) health insurance plan. Those who are enrolled in the high-deductible health plan will receive information about their health savings account under separate cover. If you would like to enroll in the flexible spending account, the Guardian dental plan or the EyeMed vision plan, it will be necessary to do so online. Please visit my.sbu.edu to enroll into or opt out of the dental and/or vision plans or to enroll into the five month flexible spending account. Wellness in the Workplace Workplace wellness programs encourage people to take
steps to prevent the onset or worsening of a health condition or sickness
and to adopt lifestyles that are healthier. Businesses may implement many
types of workplace wellness programs, from on-site gyms to simple workplace
wellness newsletters. See ideas that work well at your place and within
your budget. Leadership Skills No matter the size of your organization, leadership skills
are necessary to drive your business forward. During this session, we
will discuss the different leadership styles used when developing individuals.
As a leader, different amounts of direction and support are required depending
on the competence level of each individual on your team. Choosing the
proper leadership style to give direction and support can many times be
the difference between success and failure. Marketing on a Shoestring Budget While cutting promotional activity may appear to be an inevitable consequence and an unfortunate choice that has to be made, the truth is that any business can be effectively marketed on a limited, “downsized” budget.
