St. Bonaventure University will host two social painting events, the first for adults and the second for parents and their kids.
Cuba resident Jen Conklin brings her two-hour “If Picasso Can” class to the St. Bonaventure Clubhouse Restaurant from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. Guests are invited to order food and beverages from the Clubhouse menu.
Participants will learn how to paint sunflowers. The cost is $35, which includes all supplies. Online registration is available at http://www.picassocan.com/#!october-27-2015/cagw.
The second “If Picasso Can” event is an opportunity for parents and their children to create a masterpiece together from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts Loft. Drinks and food can be brought to The Loft.
Participants will learn how to paint tropical fish. The cost is $30 for a shared canvas and supplies. If more than one child attends, or the parent and child would like to paint separately, each additional canvas is $25.
Online registration is available at http://www.picassocan.com/#!november-7-2015/cy6g.
“The events have become very popular in the region and offer a fun, creative experience for those interested in creating their own personal work of art,” said Jennifer Pulver, event sales and marketing manager at St. Bonaventure. “The events provide an enjoyable, no-hassle experience for participants. Anyone with an interest can register to attend, even if you haven’t touched a paint brush since kindergarten.”
Conklin provides step-by-step instruction, which makes creating a unique masterpiece not only possible, but fun, Pulver said.
