The Berlin Residential Program is a semester-long study abroad program in liberal arts offered each fall semester to sophomores, juniors, and seniors from any academic major, without or with prior knowledge of German, who want to internationalize their education in a non-English speaking country, and where English can be used in lecture courses, in the culture and in internship opportunities.
Berlin is among the very few Continental cities where this is possible. The academic program supports general education in the liberal arts and has been designed to satisfy most college and university graduation requirements. Berlin is the perfect place to teach the growth of national power, literary movements, the new European Union and the horrors of the Holocaust.
The program includes an internship opportunity for every student. While students may choose a business internship (i.e., Mercedes Benz; Beutsche Telekom; KPMG), more often they choose cultural, theoretical or service-educational areas (i.e., American Academy of Berlin; think-tanks at the Adlershof Science Park; German United Nations Association; law offices; museums; chemical labs; etc.)
