The American Marketing Association chapter at St. Bonaventure University had to get crafty to fundraise this year.
Budget constraints aren’t holding the club back from raising funds to get the group of 65 and adviser Durriya Khairullah to Washington D.C. for their annual trip.
AMA will be hosting this year’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Party from 8 p.m.-midnight on Friday, Dec. 5, in the Rathskeller on campus at St. Bonaventure University. A $3 cover will be charged at the door, and the majority of the money will go into the club’s account to be dispersed for the trip.
“The fundraiser is a fun and effective way to raise money for our chapter,” said senior Victoria Ali, chapter president. “The money for the trip will allow us to explore the businesses of Bona’s alumni and to help our members attend networking events.”
AMA members benefit from the event financially but will also be practicing their marketing skills as they promote the party to the student body.
Students are encouraged to attend in their ugliest sweaters.
