Apr 01, 2022

Dr. Margaret Hindman, assistant professor of counselor education, was selected to serve on the Association for Play Therapy's Ethics Committee and to be a lead reviewer of the Association for Play Therapy's Paper on Touch, a paper to help guide practitioners with clinical and ethical considerations about the appropriate use of touch in therapeutic work with children.

Hindman was initially chosen as one of the 36 selected reviewers. She was later made the lead of the ethics section, then was made one of the final three reviewers for the document, based on her work as a lead on the ethics touch paper.

The Association for Play Therapy (APT) is a national professional society that promotes the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists. It advances the psychosocial development and mental health of all people through play and play therapy by supporting those programs, services, and related activities that promote organizational growth, public awareness, research, and diversity in the field of play therapy.
