Dr. Claire Watson, director of the public health and health science programs, was an invited speaker at the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry conference held in May in Rochester. 

Watson's presentation, titled "To Fight Childhood Obesity-Educate Undergraduate Students as Agents of Change," highlighted the health indices that health science and public health students collected during the Special Olympics Unified basketball event held on campus in April.

Students were educated on how to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities not only to obtain health data but also how to promote better health.
