College students in western New York and north-central Pennsylvania are gearing up for the annual Undergraduate Research Conference.
The 17th Annual Penn-York Conference for Undergraduates will take place at St. Bonaventure University from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Nov. 5.
Undergraduate college students in any field of study are invited to submit their research for presentation, particularly those in the behavioral and social sciences; biological, computational and physical sciences; health-related and applied sciences; and the humanities. The projects can be in progress or completed and presentations may be a 12-minute oral presentation, a poster presentation or an exhibition of artwork. {View and download a flyer here}
“The Penn-York conference is an excellent chance for undergraduate students to develop hands-on experience with academic research presentations, and is ideal for our best students, particularly those interested in pursuing graduate school,” said Dr. Ben Gross, an assistant professor of sociology at St. Bonaventure.
Gross said he is honored that St. Bonaventure is hosting this annual event, and that it will give students an opportunity to network with other students and meet professors from all over the region.
Students who wish to present should register by submitting a 100-word abstract of their project by Oct. 15. The registration fee for the event is $10 and lunch will be provided for those participating. Parents and guests are encouraged to attend the event and have a bite to eat in any of the St. Bonaventure dining facilities.
