PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Megan Weinheimer Wagner, M.A., is an award-winning marketing strategist and recurrent member of the adjunct faculty in the master of communications program.

Wagner began her professional career in marketing after receiving a B.S. degree at Indiana State University in 2004, double majoring in business administration and marketing. In the 10 years after graduating from ISU, she grew her career in several different private sector industries including banking, retail management, and media — also serving as the youngest managerial leader in two organizations.

In 2010, Wagner enrolled in the IMC master’s program at St. Bonaventure University (she says this was one of her best career decisions!). Upon completion of the program the following year, she graduated at the top of her class and received the Silver MarCom Award for excellence in the IMC program. Wagner feels that having successfully completed the program allows her to share an invaluable perspective and key insights with her students as they move forward in their coursework.

She joined the IMC adjunct faculty in 2013, teaching on the topics of digital communications, public relations, and mobile marketing. Her teaching style is interactive, collaborative, and focuses heavily on actual industry experience. Wagner finds that students best succeed when they can connect their real-life work experience to course teachings, show up to do the work, embrace creativity and new ideas, and can interactively place themselves as a consultant when crafting their final thesis. And most importantly, HAVE FUN!

In 2015, she launched her own marketing consulting company, MW MarCom, LLC. As a marketing strategist, she collaborates with a wide range of clients in the retail, tourism, hospitality, health care, and education industries. Her expertise includes messenger/chatbot marketing, digital/social media marketing, media buying, sales funnel development, and marketing education.

In 2020, she was named Best Mover & Shaker in Best of Tampa Bay. Collectively with her team, Wagner’s agency also won six Best of Tampa Bay awards.

In 2022, Wagner joined the Joann Fabric & Crafts corporate marketing team as a digital marketing analyst. At Joann, she is the strategic lead on the paid search and affiliate marketing channels for the company.

Wagner is also a watercolor and acrylic artist and helps people overcome stress and anxiety by learning the basics of watercolor painting. You can check out her work on Instagram (@meganweinheimer). She resides in the Tampa Bay area where she enjoys painting, traveling, playing pickleball, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts, and zipping around on her golf cart.
