POLS 103. International Relations

This course is designed as an introduction to the study of international relations. Several important questions are addressed. What is the nature of the international system? What sources of power are available? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the current state system? How are non-state actors influencing international relations? What are the links between individuals and world politics? Objectives of this course include increasing understanding of current international events, developing an appreciation for the challenges of political decision-making and diplomacy and the choice of tactics, augmenting familiarity with key political concepts and improving recognition of important international actors.
