A Home Away From Home

The St. Bonaventure University community is known for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere. As a student coming from overseas, spending four years away from friends and family can be daunting.

But St. Bonaventure is committed to creating a comfortable environment you can call your home away from home. As soon as you step on campus, you will be surrounded by faculty, students, and friars ready to help you become extraordinary.

An Active Campus in a Beautiful Setting

Our residential campus is a signature of the St. Bonaventure experience. In fact, 75 percent of our students live on campus, fostering a vibrant, community-minded environment. Our students are friendly and tight-knit, participating in numerous activities together on and off campus.

St. Bonaventure is located in the rolling hills of southwestern New York State. The area's natural beauty combined with our graceful Italian-style architecture is one of the University’s strongest assets.

small map 2 St. Bonaventure is centrally located between several major cities. Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh are only a few hours away. New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Boston are all close enough for a weekend visit.

The Buffalo Niagara Airport is only 90 minutes away and offers direct flights to most major airports in the the United States. The University is accessible by bus and car, with the ride providing an opportunity to see the Enchanted Mountains of Western New York.

A Great School at a Great Value

Attending St. Bonaventure is a decision you can afford to make

Our goal at SBU is to make our unique, Franciscan-style of education available to everyone. Through academic scholarships, grants, work/study jobs, and need-based aid, the average freshman receives more than $23,000 in their financial aid package. Selecting the right school is important for your future. Cost may be a factor, but over a lifetime, the benefits of a quality college education will make it worthwhile.

Yellow Ribbon program fills tuition gap of Post-9/11 GI Bill

SYellow Ribbont. Bonaventure is a Yellow Ribbon school, helping post-9/11 veterans, or their children, attend SBU tuition free through the GI Education Enhancement Programs.

The VA program is designed to help students pay for education programs not covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition benefit.  Under the program, the difference between the GI Bill tuition benefit and the tuition cost at a private university is split between the college and the Department of Veterans Affairs.  Veterans can transfer benefits to their children.
