Good grades can earn you more financial aid
You can calculate the estimated financial aid you'll earn based on grades and tests scores.
- No separate application is necessary for academic awards, but priority is given if you apply for admission by Feb. 15.
- Awards are for four years (same amount), provided you maintain the required GPA. Amounts listed assume on-campus resident status. Commuters do not receive the full amount.
- GPA is based on college prep curriculum grades in English, social studies, science, math and modern languages in the first three years of high school.
- Residents of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Allegany counties in New York; and McKean, Potter and Warren counties in Pennsylvania may qualify for the Enchanted Mountain or Warren Scholarship. Consult your admissions counselor or SBU's Financial Aid Office.
- A $2,000 Out-of-State Geographic Diversity Grant is awarded to non-New York residents.
