St. Bonaventure University

The Ryan Marchiori Memorial Fund

Ryan Marchiori,’08 and ’09 (BBA/MBA), took his passions from St. Bonaventure University to the leadership team of EnergyMark, a local supplier of electricity, natural gas and renewable energy based in Williamsville, NY. Known for his genuine kindness, sincerity and strength, Ryan was a loyal Bona's supporter, and active in Leadership Buffalo, Clean Communities of WNY, the Hydrocephalus Foundation and his parish, St. Gregory the Great.

Tragically, Ryan passed away from complications of a car accident that occurred while traveling home from work in October 2019.

Ryan embodied the Franciscan values taught at St. Bonaventure. His respect for life and others, service to society and church, as well as his love for the outdoors, all exemplified what it means to be a Bonnie.

After Ryan’s passing, the Marchiori family established a memorial fund in Ryan’s name at St. Bonaventure. A donation was made to the Warming House and its mission of hope.

With the remaining funds, a new effort has been established to build a permanent structure in front of Devereux Hall. This pavilion will be built for nearly year-round use and will feature two fire pits, ample seating and a place for students to congregate and events to be held. This fundraising effort is being started to give Ryan’s friends, family, St. Bonaventure alumni and colleagues, the opportunity to participate in a project that will let his legacy live on, and also bring a beautiful new structure to the Bona campus. In addition to the donations received, the Marchiori family has committed to donating the additional funds needed to complete the project. We are hoping that construction will begin in the spring of 2021.

Thank you for your consideration of this great cause. This pavilion will be an asset for the university and enhance the “Good Journey” for many generations of Bonnies.
