Joe Franzetti, SBU class of 1999, will be the keynote speaker at the Career and Professional Readiness Center’s annual Internship Summit from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Robert R. Jones Trustees Room in Doyle Hall.
Franzetti’s talk is titled “Find Your Calendar: How St. Bonaventure Launched a Career and Encouraged a Passion.”
Franzetti, a corporate tax consultant, and his father, Paul, have donated their time and artistic talents the last eight years to creating an art calendar to raise money for a leprosy hospital in Ecuador. Their story was told in the Summer 2013 issue of Bonaventure magazine (page 24).
If you sign up for the summit by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, you’ll be eligible to win a Samsung Galaxy 7 tablet. Register by emailing email@example.com. (Early registration is encouraged, but not required to attend.)
“We think Joe really has a compelling story to tell about how his Bonaventure experience influenced both his career and personal life,” said Connie Whitcomb, executive director of the CPRC.
After Franzetti’s talk, students will be able to network with internship coordinators from the academic schools at St. Bonaventure, as well as with students who have already completed internships and service experiences
Students attending the summit will also be the first to be introduced to BonaLink, the university’s new online internship posting program.
Five students will also be inducted into the second class of the Internship Wall of Fame: seniors Colleen Guilfoyle and Emma Zaremba, and juniors Sebastian Bellm, Jason Damon and Stephanie Jenkins. Their plaques will be on display at the event and eventually moved to the Wall of Fame in the hallway outside the CPRC on the second floor of Reilly Center.
