The LSAT evaluates acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills. It consists of five 35-minute sections of multiple-choice questions. A 35-minute writing sample is administered at the end of the test. The exam is offered at designated testing centers four times each year. For fall admission, many law schools require that the LSAT is taken by December of the previous year, though, it is recommended to take the test earlier in the year. The MCAT is designed to gauge a student's problem solving, critical thinking, writing skills, and knowledge of the scientific concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine. Scores are reported in Verbal Reasoning, Physical Sciences, Writing Sample, and Biological Sciences. Almost all U.S. medical schools require MCAT exam scores to be included in an application. Many schools do not accept MCAT exam scores that are more than three years old.
