St. Bonaventure University is hosting the Silver Lake Chorale at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at St. Bonaventure Parish in Allegany.
The concert is free and open to the public. The chorale is from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisc.
The college’s president, Dr. Chris Domes, is a 1985 graduate of St. Bonaventure with degrees in history and secondary education. He also earned his master’s in counseling psychology from SBU.
Domes and his wife, Mary, who received her master’s degree in education at St. Bonaventure in 1986, will accompany the chorale on their visit.
The chorale is the flagship vocal ensemble of Silver Lake, a 650-student Franciscan liberal arts college about 40 miles south of Green Bay. The hour-long concert will feature a selection of sacred and secular choral music.
The concert tour is commemorating the school’s 80th anniversary. The chorale features full-time undergraduate students from every academic discipline at Silver Lake.
As a thank-you for offering the free concert, the university is providing overnight lodging on campus for the chorale members.
