The Center for Activities, Recreation and Leadership (CARL) provides students the opportunity to program and attend events on campus, participate in athletic and recreational activities, and grow through leadership opportunities.
CARL, which operates out of the Sandra A. and William L. Richter Center, our state-of-the-art fitness and recreation center, is the centralized location for all recreation activities, club sports, student engagement and programming. The Center coordinates a busy schedule of activities and events, from Open Mic Nights at the Rathskeller, a popular gathering spot on campus, to running a campuswide kickball tournament each spring.
The Center for Activities, Recreation and Leadership also runs our Freshman Leadership Program, an interactive yearlong program that helps students develop leadership skills.
Each student, with the support and encouragement of a leadership mentor, participates in activities meant to develop leadership skills:
- team-building exercises
- educational workshops
- networking events
- student leadership panels
