A life-Changing Program |
| |
“Throughout my 16-month whirlwind IMC
journey, which included a once-in-a-lifetime trip to China, I had the
opportunity and privilege to learn from some of the best minds in the
business. Enrolling in IMC was one of the best decisions of my
professional life. In short, a life-changing experience."

St. Bonaventure University is one of only
a handful of schools in the United States that offers a graduate
program in Integrated Marketing Communications.
Our program was one of the first, and it continues to attract top-notch students from across the country.
Integrated Marketing Communications is an
innovative way of looking at business communications. It coordinates
and integrates the various marketing communication tools within a
company into a seamless program in order to maximize the company's
message in a cost-effective manner.
Its aim is to optimize the impact of persuasive communication by coordinating such elements
of the marketing mix as advertising, public relations, business
communications, promotions, direct marketing, package design, and
e-commerce.
IMC graduates are consistently in demand
at companies large and small because they know how to successfully
execute marketing strategies.
Our graduates work in a wide range of fields, from health care to casino marketing, and from agency to freelance settings.
Professional Program, Two Campuses
St. Bonaventure's IMC program is designed
to meet the needs of the working professional. We offer our program in
two cohort-based formats:
- full time on our main campus in Olean, N.Y., and
- full time, weekends only, at our Buffalo Center campus at Hilbert College in Hamburg, N.Y.
Students must complete three classes per semester to qualify as
full-time. Each class is offered in five-week segments so students take
one class at a time. This allows the student to fully immerse him or
herself into the program and truly grasp the information presented.
Students at the main campus in Olean complete the program in two years,
taking classes two nights a week beginning at 6 p.m. Students at the
Buffalo Center complete the program in 15 months by attending classes on
weekends: Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30
p.m.
The program is designed progressively to
allow students to build on work done and information learned in each
class. The culmination of the class work is the final campaign project
that allows the students to showcase all that is learned. Each class in
the program affords the student the opportunity to add to the final
campaign project. (For an example of the final campaign project click

Real-World Opportunities, Home and Abroad
Classes in the IMC program often
incorporate real-world experiences. Many classes bring in visiting
speakers who have extensive experience in the field. Students also have
the opportunity to participate in the Francis E. Kelley Oxford Program
at Oxford University's Trinity College in England, regarded as one of
St. Bonaventure's most prestigious summer programs. It offers IMC
students a chance to work on a project for an international client, and
provides international internship opportunities to qualifying students.
