The Bona Venture

Do you dream of writing a front-page story or covering a Division I sports team? Have you always wanted to ask the tough questions to top officials, sound off about something on your mind or develop photojournalism skills? What about meeting friends and forging connections that could last a lifetime?

Well, you’ve come to the right place.

The Bona Venture is St. Bonaventure’s award-winning, student-run newspaper. In existence since 1926, the BV has a long and proud history of covering all the news of the university and surrounding Olean/Allegany community. Although we’re funded by the university, we’re independent of any academic school or department.

We welcome students of all majors and years to participate in the BV. Write for one of our four major sections (News, Arts and Life, Opinion and Sports), take photos, create and generate advertisements or work in our business, marketing or online sections. No journalistic experience needed — we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
