VOICES operates under the Damietta Center to provide the SBU campus with a group that focuses on issues that affect women.
VOICES has a specific interest in sexual violence prevention and hosts such events as “Give Back the Night” and “The Clothesline Project” to raise awareness and allow survivors to share their stories.
This group also raises both funds and awareness for other causes such as the American Heart Association through the Go Red for Women campaign. VOICES also participates in the Alfred University Women’s Conference in the fall semester.
Though this group is dedicated to issues affecting women, we invite all people, male or female, to join us and come to our events. VOICES meets weekly to discuss events and issues concerning women.
