Father Mychal Judge Center Goals and Objectives
Program Goals
To provide students and faculty with opportunities to improve pedagogy and curriculum related to issues of global citizenships, international relations, nation-building rooted in ethical values and reconciliation as a basis for social progress.
Students will also focus on the professional and intellectual skills that foster global citizenship and equip tomorrow’s leaders. St. Bonaventure University’s new major in International Studies will be well served by the opportunities cultivated by the Father Mychal Judge Center.
To provide or develop bonds between and among faculties, research and study centers and universities with a shared interest in this agenda.
To promote an understanding of the role of reflection and reconciliation in establishing a peaceful future and moving past a history of conflict.
To provide opportunities for direct engagement with host cultures through webinars, internships and service learning opportunities that will provide engagement with Ireland’s current social, economic, and political life and its ecumenical future.
To provide Irish university students additional options for study abroad either at St. Bonaventure University’s U.S. campus or through the university’s existing study abroad programs in Spain, England and Italy.
