Students study music at St. Bonaventure for a number of reasons. Some students want to be active participants in the music world, as either performers or composers, while others are planning a career in the music industry, perhaps managing a concert venue, performance group, or production company.
Many students choose to study music as a second major or minor, in order to keep it a part of their lives. These students improve their performance skills, enjoy participating in concerts, and learn how music functions in our society.
Listen to examples of student musical work created at SBU:
- An excerpt of Richard Z.'s ambient studio composition, Whisper.
- An excerpt of Ryan D.'s guitar solo on Smoke On The Water.
- An excerpt of Maureen N. and Emily M. performing a piano piece by Dvorak.
