Tutoring

Doyle Hall     The St. Bonaventure Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) provides academic support in a variety of forms. In particular, the TLC employs students as peer tutors for numerous subjects. The TLC often needs peer tutors for mathematics. (The TLC also sponsors Math Labs, which are staffed by math professors.) By becoming a mathematics tutor, a student can help other students, deepen her or his own understanding of mathematics, and earn extra money. The experience gained as a tutor can be a valuable asset when applying for a job or for graduate school. Peer tutors may be needed for the following mathematics courses:

Tutor application forms are available through my.sbu.edu or at the TLC. You must have a final grade of B+ or higher in each course for which you want to tutor. The TLC will contact your professor for each course for a referral. For more information about becoming a peer tutor at the TLC, contact Kathy Thierman (kthierma@sbu.edu, 716-375-2066).
