The University honored the many faculty and staff members who made financial contributions during the 2011-2012 fiscal year with its annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the University Clubhouse. Nearly 40 faculty and staff donors attended the event.
Julie Briggs Cunningham, director of Annual Giving Programs, acknowledged the hard work and daily devotion of St. Bonaventure’s faculty and staff.
“You wear many hats while on this campus,” Cunningham said, “one of the most important roles is that of a donor.”
She noted that a powerful statement is made when those who work here are the first to invest in the University in order to increase its value.
“Thank you for giving back to your house to make this a greater home for all of us,” she said.
According to Cunningham, St. Bonaventure enjoyed the financial support of 154 faculty and staff members during the past fiscal year, which represents a 34 percent participation rate.
Faculty and staff gifts for this fiscal year (June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012) stand at $63,016 as of May 4, Cunningham said.
The following individuals were honored for 20 or more years of giving back to St. Bonaventure: Steven Brown, Doug Cashing, Joe Flanagan, Jamie Peace, Yvonne Peace, Michael Russell, Stuart Silliker, Richard Simpson, and Bernard Vossler.
Members of the 2011-2012 Faculty and Staff Committee members included: Kathy Boser, Betsy and Doug Cashing, Michael Hoffman, Laura and Jeff Peterson, and Ann Tenglund.
