I am passionate about words and what they can do when brought together in unusual ways.
I am a poet and a teacher and am able to bring these together as an assistant professor of writing and literature at Chester College of New England. I teach a variety of poetry classes — from intro to Surrealism and Rebellion to Deranged Language — and my students are just as passionate about writing as I am.
My colleagues are all working writers and visual artists, and I find a great deal of support to do my own writing in this community. Simply put, I love my job.
I worked in the English Department when I was at Bona’s, and the professors (Dr. Farrow and Dr. Simpson especially) identified this passion in me even before I did (they used to try to convince me to switch my major).
I never forgot their advice, and finally followed it in graduate school. I hold a master's degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing (College of Saint Rose) and an MFA in Poetry (New England College).
