Since I was a kid growing up in Buffalo, N.Y., when we all had rinks in our backyards, my passion has been playing ice hockey, but I never dreamed I would still be playing three days a week at my age (66), especially since I’ve had a quintuple bypass surgery, five stents and a full knee replacement.
As the Master Card commercial would say:
Playing with the Geri-Hatricks — $13 a game
Playing on the Potomac Team in the Seniors over 60 League — $20 a game
Teaching your grandsons the love of the game on a frozen pond in Delaware — PRICELESS.
Thanks to modern medicine, ISN'T LIFE GRAND!!!!
We didn’t have a hockey team when I attended Bona’s but we did play some pick-up games and once played a game against the Seminarians when Christ the King Seminary was on campus.
