Students at St. Bonaventure University receive financial aid from a variety of sources. More than 95 percent of our students receive some type of financial assistance. Some students receive aid that is generated by St. Bonaventure.
St. Bonaventure Grants-in-Aid and other University sponsored grants and scholarships are available to students demonstrating financial need, as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
St. Bonaventure University also sponsors a work study program, which is dependent upon availability of funding and willingness to work.
The federal and New York state governments award grants, scholarships and loans. St. Bonaventure University participates in the Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (SEOG) and Pell Grant programs, Federal Direct Loan Program and the Perkins Loan program, which are sponsored by the Federal government and New York State's TAP. TAP is limited to New York State residents. In addition, the Federal government sponsors the need-based Federal Work Study Program.
Lending institutions, such as banks, provide financial assistance in the form of the Federal Direct Loan program (subsidized and unsubsidized), and the Parent Loan for Undergraduate Student (PLUS) program.

To receive a financial aid package you must be accepted for admission to St. Bonaventure and file the appropriate financial aid forms. If you do not file the required forms by the priority date of February 15, you will still be considered for assistance but you may miss out on certain types of limited funds.
