Hometown: Brant, N.Y. Major: Marketing
Wanting to go above and beyond, Mike Muffoletto knew that the Honors Program would be a worthwhile way to put his skills to the test.
“Joining the Honors Program was never a question for me; it was a must. I want to challenge myself, and I did that in high school by taking AP courses. Now, by being in this program at St. Bonaventure, I will graduate with the highest possible honor and will be able to push myself further than I normally would have,” Muffoletto said.
Marketing is a topic Muffoletto has always been interested in. He enjoys the classes in the core curriculum (Clare College) he has taken so far and cannot wait to get to more in-depth courses.
One of the perks of being in the Honors Program is that students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty and staff on certain projects. Muffoletto is working with faculty in the Department of Marketing on developing a new course for that major. Muffoletto is able to give input on everything from how the course should be conducted to what material needs to be covered.
“To think that it is only my freshman year and I am being given the opportunity to work with faculty members on creating a new course is incredible,” he said. “This shows how students at Bonaventure can really make a difference on campus and that their opinions matter. This opportunity has also allowed me to make connections with people I can learn from and who have given me great advice on how to continue to make my journey at St. Bonaventure advantageous.”
Muffoletto recommends that incoming students consider the Honors Program.
“It is a fantastic opportunity and the knowledge and experience you will gain is lifelong,” he said.In his free time, Muffoletto enjoys going to basketball games and hanging out with friends.
