Dr. Kim received his doctorate in Mass Communication from the University of Alabama, a master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from Emerson College, and his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from McMaster University.
His main research interest lies in consumer behavior/psychology with a focus on their use of digital media. His work has been published in various journals including Journal of Advertising Research, CyberPsychology, Behavior & Social Networking, Journal of Marketing Communications and Computers in Human Behavior.
Prior to going into academia, he worked in product development and marketing for General Motors Korea. He was involved in the development and launch of the Chevrolet Spark and Cruze in Korea and he worked with advertising and research agencies such as TNS and WWP World-Wide to conduct pricing, option packaging and sales forecasting.
Kim's teaching focuses on communication strategy and planning, concentrating on integrating targets, timing, and message strategies.
