The Family Business Club helps prepare students to be significant contributors to their family firms, start their own business, or work with family businesses as customers, suppliers and advisers.
Open to all students, the club offers networking and educational programs to prepare them for the opportunities and daunting challenges unique to family firms.
The Club fosters relationships with alumni, parents and friends who offer students business tours, talks, mentorships and internships.
The club is supported by an interdisciplinary faculty from across campus, all with relevant family business experience.
Businesses or alumni interested in working with the club should contact the adviser, Dr. Carol B. Wittmeyer, associate professor of management, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
SBU's Family Business Club was among 19 teams from nine different countries that competed in the 2015 Family Enterprise Case Competition at the University of Vermont. SBU earned the sole creativity award in the undergraduate division.
