St. Bonaventure University’s Xi Nu chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society, will be hosting a book drive at the Bonnies basketball game this Saturday, Feb. 13.
Chapter members will be staffing a table near the SBU Bookstore to collect the books beginning at 3 p.m. in advance of the men’s game vs. George Washington at 4 p.m. Donation boxes will also be located at other ticket-scanning entrances.
Books can also be dropped off in Plassmann Hall, room B23.
“Kappa Delta Pi hosts annual Literacy Alive! events and this year we thought a book drive would be a great way to benefit area youth,” said Brianna Wilson, co-president of KDP. “Those who donate books can be assured that their donations are going to area children in need.”
KDP is seeking new or gently used children’s books, Wilson said.
Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. Today, KDP has a membership of more than 1.2 million. Using a variety of programs, services and resources, KDP supports and advances educators throughout the phases of their teaching careers.
