This course consists of a weekly classroom seminar, which includes speakers, films and discussions on major social problems such as poverty, drugs, crime, the aged, the mentally deficient, child abuse, family disorganization, etc. All students are also placed for a semester in local agencies that deal with social problems. Reports of “in the field” observations are submitted periodically.
