The primary purpose of this paper is to aid qualified senior history majors in developing the ability for independent study and research and in producing a thesis that is intelligently conceived, carefully researched, closely reasoned, properly documented, and clearly and effectively presented. An individual student will work under the guidance of a professor on an agreed-upon topic.
