This course introduces students to the materials and strategies for teaching elementary social studies and language arts in an integrated manner. Emphasis is placed on initial and developmental literacy instruction. The course defines the scope and sequence, as well as state and local standards for literacy curricula. Students will plan and teach lessons in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Field Block 1 course taken concurrently with EDUC 304 and EDUC 312.
