CareerFest is an outstanding opportunity for students and alumni to meet and talk with prospective employers -RIGHT HERE ON CAMPUS!
While an excellent experience for students seeking internships and full-time employment, attending CareerFest is also beneficial for underclassmen; allowing them to make contacts within their career field and to learn what skills they can develop in order to make them most marketable to a future employer. Students who attend career fairs as early as their freshmen or sophomore year gain an increased confidence in their ability to interact professionally with employers and to communicate, clearly and concisely, their accomplishments and goals.
CareerFest is a prime opportunity for students to begin networking with potential employers and to practice developing interviewing and job preparation skills. Junior, senior, and graduate students on the job or internship search have landed interviews through contacts made at CareerFest. REMEMBER: 80% of the job market is HIDDEN! Which means, 80% of the available opportunities out there are not advertised! This fact alone makes the ability to network well with employers and organization reps a VITAL SKILL REQUIRED for a successful job search!
