A New Concept, a New Name

Typically, a college career center is a place students visit in their junior or senior year when they think it's time to consider where they might find an internship or what they will do after graduation. But St. Bonaventure students are not typical; they're becoming extraordinary.

That's why we created the Career and Professional Readiness Center. The CPRC goes way beyond the typical in providing students with extraordinary resources to enhance their ability to find an internship, land that first job, or win acceptance to their graduate school of choice.

An Investment in YOU and Your Future

The CPRC's investment in you begins freshman year and continues through graduation. It offers a comprehensive range of services and programs that empower you with the skills to understand and implement career goals, enhance your professional development, and implement effective job-search strategies.

While the CPRC programming is organized according to a traditional four-year progression, all activities and programs are available to students at any stage in their St. Bonaventure career.

Through your engagement with the CPRC, you will:

• Gain a greater understanding of self, which will guide you in setting and achieving your career goals

• Develop a solid understanding of your personal brand and how to articulate that brand to your best advantage

• Create the most marketable version of your resume that showcases your extraordinary Bonaventure experience

• Gain confidence in your interviewing abilities to rise to the top in a competitive selection process

• Learn how to build and navigate your professional network

• Enhance your marketability for internships, jobs and graduate school

You will be asked to complete a Professional Development Action Plan. The PDAP serves as a four-year record of achievement, a checklist of events and activities you've completed. It's your passport to career and professional readiness.

No college career center can guarantee graduates will land the job or graduate school acceptance of their dreams, but we believe that by partnering with the CPRC over your undergraduate career, you will be more prepared than most for that next big step.
