These projects are semester long, and give an unparalleled experience in global culture as all students are grouped into diverse project teams with members from many different countries. Macquarie University  

 

Looking to tackle real-world environmental issues? Then this is the program you are looking for! Macquarie University’s Volunteer Program – Earthwatch Australia  focuses on climate change in the rainforest. No special skills or an environmental science background is needed to participate in the program. As you learn about the fragile state of the world’s environment, you will also have the unique opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the rainforest, Great Barrie Reef, and just overall exploration!

National University of Ireland, Galway  

 

The National University of Ireland at Galway’s mission is to not only reinvigorate higher education, but also instill in students a sense of social responsibility and civic awareness. When applying to the program, the service learning project you will complete will coincide with your academic major, to ensure a greater understanding and appreciation for the social issues concerned with your field of study. You and many other students will learn by actively engaging with communities while being guided by academic staff.
