The Office of Marketing and Communications is located on the second floor of Francis Hall on the East End of campus. During the academic year, our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Summer hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
St. Bonaventure University will welcome home alumni and pay tribute to President Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., during the university’s annual Alumni Reunion Weekend, June 3-5.
Special recognition is given to graduating classes going back in five-year increments, from the class of 2011 to the 50-year class of 1966, although alumni from all classes are encouraged to attend. More than 1,000 people are expected to return for the weekend’s activities.
Friday’s activities include walking tours of campus and special class dinners at various off-campus venues. The evening will end with a social in the Rathskeller on campus.
Saturday’s events include golf at the SBU course; a donor-recognition breakfast; a campus tour and a number of campus open houses; the Athletics Hall of Fame induction at the Quick Center for the Arts at 1:30 p.m.; a presentation by Fr. Michael Calabria, O.F.M., director of the Center for Arab & Islamic studies, “In the Footsteps of Francis and the sultan: Franciscan Foundations for Christian-Muslim Relations;” and a talk by national alumni chaplain Fr. Dan Riley, O.F.M., ’64, on “Thomas Merton: His Story and the Bona Story.”
As part of the celebration, outgoing university President Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., will give her farewell address to alumni Saturday morning. During a dinner that evening, there will be a special tribute to Sr. Margaret.
The Alumni Memorial Mass will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the University Chapel. Alumni will then gather at 5:30 p.m. at Hickey Dining Hall for a cocktail reception, followed by the annual Reunion Dinner at Premier Banquet Center, featuring the William “Stax” McCarthy Alumni of the Year presentation.
The weekend concludes Sunday morning with a breakfast in Hickey Dining Hall and a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the University Chapel.
