ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y — Current and prospective sociology majors at St. Bonaventure University will have an opportunity Wednesday, March 14, to learn about career options during a panel discussion in the Hall of Fame Room. The program begins at 6 p.m.
With presentations from a panel of sociologists ranging from lawyers to addiction counselors, the goal of the event is to discuss possible career options with the sociology students. The speakers will briefly talk about their educational backgrounds and their jobs, including the pros and cons that come along with their careers. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
The following sociologists will make up the panel: Jeff Reed and Gary Abraham, who are both local lawyers; Lisa Okerlund from the Council on Addiction Recovery Services; Dr. Randy John from the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum; Dr. Roger Keener, director of SBU Wellness Center; and Jamie Ryder, an SBU graduate from the class of 2005 who works with AmeriCorps. Bruce Campbell will also be there to discuss the SBU graduate counseling program.
