Each year, the Quick Center offers free professional development workshops to area art teachers from a six-county area across southwestern New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.
During in-service days, teachers come to share ideas and lesson plans, meet with teachers from different districts and to discuss issues and concerns in today’s ever-changing classrooms.
Previous PD days, mini-PD days, and seminars have had similar goals and outcomes:
- To explore the integration of art with various disciplines
- To utilize the galleries and exhibitions as a valuable teaching resource
- To share successful art lessons with fellow teachers.
The Arts Education program plans to expand in-service days to teachers of all disciplines and grade levels.
