Spiritual Life
'OHHH! I get it!'
Romy Knittel
Lecturer
Department of Biology
“In the biology laboratory it’s easy to know when your instruction has connected with students because they usually exclaim out loud – 'OHHH! I get it!' This is why I love teaching in the laboratory – it’s an immediate and very real experience for everyone involved. Understanding shines in students’ eyes when the pieces fall into place and the concept becomes clear. Most individual concepts in biology are not actually that difficult, but there are an awful lot of them and putting them all together to create a coherent understanding of the way living systems work is very challenging.”
