Additional Biographical Information:

Dr. Watson, grew up in Franklinville, N.Y., and graduated from Archbishop Walsh High School in Olean. He played basketball at Bucknell University and spent two years after college playing professionally in Ireland and England. 

Dr. Watson still has close ties to New Zealand, as he owns a basketball team in the New Zealand National Basketball League, the Canterbury Rams. 

Dr. Watson is the son of the late Dr. John G. Watson, former dean of the School of Business, and Dr. Suzanne Watson (Computer Science); and the brother of Stephen Watson, SBU Athletic Director.  He and his wife, Dr. Leslie Raymore Watson, have four children, John (11), Noah (9), Stephen (7), and Elizabeth (4).
