Teaching Philosophy:

My teaching philosophy is forever evolving. Briefly stated, I believe students need to do more than regurgitate facts, what some refer to as “bulimic learning.” Content subject matter should not be taught in isolation; students need to see the relationship among various subject areas. They need to be able to understand theory and know how to apply it so that it becomes relevant in their world. They need to know “how to think,” to be able to evaluate, synthesize, and analyze information, and to be able to ask “what if…?” and “how can I make a change or a difference…?”

Other Interests/Community Involvement:

  • Theater productions
  • Children’s Theatre Workshop
  • Boy Scouts
  • Presenting workshops pertaining to Special Education within the surrounding communities.
  • I also enjoy just talking with students about life.
